About Tal
Tal began playing guitar at the age of 11. Finally, there was an outlet for the constant stream of melody that backgrounded every moment of their thought. They have since devoted years to chasing the satisfaction of channelling that inner music through the guitar and the double bass. Sophomoric bands came and went, Jimi Hendrix licks were copped, and at the age of 16, Tal co-founded New Stems, a band dedicated to manifesting the spontaneous stream of music within. Through their relationship with the creative process, Tal developed appreciation for all music made with heart. As they delved deeper into the mechanics of their favourite groups, the Grateful Dead and Phish, Tal found influence in these bands’ musical champions and formed a deep love for jazz, bluegrass, soul, and genre-defying experimental music. Tal now spends their time composing electronic music as Lazy Summer Dogs, performing on electric and double bass, and studying the mystifying music of their jazz predecessors.
